Ernest E. Howell

Ernest E. "Ernie" Howell, 76, passed away at 4:50 p.m. on Wednesday October 18, 2023 at his home. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on March 1, 1947 the son of James A. and Edith M. (Bishop) Howell. He was a 1966 graduate of Bunswick High School and honorably served in the United States Army as a medic in Germany. He was a retired truck driver for MS Carriers and White Line Express of Medina. He was a member of the Cortland First Church of God and enjoyed watching Nascar and traveling.

Ernie is survived by six children, Dorothea (Larry) Hughes of Pocahontas, Arkansas, Pam Weeks of Illinois, Kimberly Linebaugh of Warren, Tracy (Jenny) Weeks of Niles, Kim (John) Jennings of Kodak, Tennessee, Robert (Darlene) Howell of Genoa, West Virginia; 27 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; sister, Peggy (Ray) Hawkins of Brunswick; brother, Jim (Adaline) Howell of Cleveland; special neighbors Shawn and Angela Hughes of Niles.

He was preceded in death by his wife Donna Lee (Kyle) Howell whom he married on October 9, 1982 and who died on June 28, 2021; daughter, Tami Singleton; two sons, Clifford Weeks, Kenneth F. Hilty II; granddaughter; great grandson and brother, Chuck Howell.

A Memorial Service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday October 28, 2023 at the Cortland First Church of God 541 S. High Street, Cortland, Ohio 44410 where family and friends may call one hour prior to the service. Following the services a memorial dinner will be held in his honor at the church.
