With profound love and quiet sorrow, we announce the passing of our wife, mother and grandmother, Evelyn Kay (Cline) Bouts of Niles, Ohio, who left this world on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Evelyn was born on May 8,1945, in Niles, Ohio, to Agnes (Johnson) Cline and Sherman Cline. She graduated from Niles McKinley High School in 1964 and fondly reminisced about how the "Niles Red Dragons football team never lost a game during her high school years." Evelyn remained a proud lifelong resident of the City of Niles.
She began her working career at the Niles Daily Times right out of high school and continued to work there for 4 years. Over the years she worked in retail at JC Penney’s in Niles, Kohls and finally Kmart where she retired to be a “Mamaw” full time.
She was the beloved wife of William C. Bouts, with whom she married on June 18, 1966 and shared 59 loving years of marriage, building a life rooted in devotion, faith, and unwavering commitment. Together, they created a home defined by love, stability, and family.
Evelyn was the cherished mother of Cristine (Jim) Bowser of Mineral Ridge and Sheryl (Bill) Krajcirik of Columbiana. Her love for her daughters was boundless and unwavering—the steady force that guided them, lifted them, and shaped their lives. She was their safe place, their greatest supporter, and their constant source of strength. The devotion she poured into them was returned in full, forming a bond of love that will never be broken.
She also leaves behind a most beloved and precious granddaughter, Presley Bowser of McDonald, of whom the sun rose and the moon followed. Presley was truly a light that burned brightly in Evelyn’s universe.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her mother, Agnes (Johnson) Cline, her father, Sherman, Cline, her four sisters, Georgia (Cline) Carpenter, Pauline (Cline) Humphrey, Alice Faye (Cline) Campbell, Ruth Ann (Cline) Green.
She is survived by her only brother, Thomas Cline of Mineral Ridge.
Evelyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law, and the heart and guiding presence of her family throughout her life. She cherished her family above all else. Her love was the kind that shaped lives, built memories, and will continue to echo through her family.
A woman of deep conviction, Evelyn was of the Apostolic faith and possessed a strong love and understanding of the Word of God. She often reflected on scripture for guidance, comfort, and strength, living her faith through kindness and devotion to others.
Evelyn was known for her quick wit, sense of humor, and playful spirit. She was stubborn in the best ways—strong in her convictions and steadfast in her love. She was a faithful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, someone her family could always depend on.
Selfless by nature, Evelyn loved caring for others and took great pride in creating a welcoming home. She enjoyed family gatherings and was a generous hostess, providing countless cherished memories for those she loved.
Evelyn’s life was defined by faith, devotion, and love. She was a steady presence, a source of strength, and the heart of her family. Though our hearts ache in her absence, we are forever changed by the gift of having been loved by her. Her loss is unmeasurable in those who will continue to love her.
