Florence "Flossie" Cera

NILES, OHIO - Florence "Flossie" Cera, 92, died on Sunday morning October 12, 2014 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin, Illinois. She was born in Niles on May 11, 1922 the daughter of Herbert J. and Olive (Mason) Webb. She lived in Niles most of her life and moved to Illinois in 2007 to live closer to her niece, Lillian Webb Mosier, who looked after her well being till her passing. A 1939 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and the Youngstown College School of Business, she retired in 1990 after working 23 years as a secretary at the Butler Wick and Company in Warren. She was a member of the Niles First Christian Church and enjoyed traveling, reading and playing scrabble and bridge. Flossie is survived by a granddaughter, Tina Cera Colantonio and two great grandchildren. Flossie is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband John A. Cera Sr. whom she married on August 6, 1945 and who died on October 3, 2006; son, John A. Cera Jr.; sister, Elouise Stone Bright; two brothers, William Harrison Webb and John M. Webb. The Funeral will be Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home where family and friends may call one hour prior to the service. Entombment will be in Niles City Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church, Niles or the Alzheimers Association.
