George Cost

George Cost, 93, passed away peacefully Monday evening, May 18, 2026, at Hospice House in Poland. He was born September 9, 1932, in Warren, Ohio, the son of Nicholas and Julia (Kowalchik) Constantino.

A proud graduate of Niles McKinley High School, George honorably served his country in the United States Army with the 6th Medium Tank Battalion, 24th Infantry Division during the Korean War. Following his service, he dedicated twenty-five years to The Fastener House, retiring in 1981 as manager.

George was a man who could fix just about anything and truly believed nothing was ever broken if you were willing to work at it long enough. He loved spending time in his workshop building, tinkering, and helping others with whatever they needed repaired. Known for his quick wit and unforgettable sense of humor, George had a way of making people laugh and feel at ease wherever he went.

He found great joy in playing slot machines and bowling throughout the Mahoning Valley. Some of his happiest moments were spent enjoying Sunday dinners surrounded by family at his daughter’s home, telling stories, and making those around him smile. George brought warmth, laughter, and unforgettable memories wherever he went. Above all, George was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and cherished great-grandfather whose family meant everything to him.

George is survived by his daughter, Susan Faith (Michael McKenzie); two sons, David Cost (Robin LeDuc) and Michael (Kim) Cost; three grandchildren, Leeann (Mike) Burns, Shaun Faith, and Lindsey (Chuck) Schiffhauer; four great-grandchildren, Mason, Mia, Max, and Chloe; and his brother, Gus Cost.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Palma Ruth (Spalvieri) Cost, whom he married on September 24, 1954, and who passed away on November 25, 2005; and by his sister, Helen Kaniclides.

In honoring George’s wishes, private funeral services were held Friday, May 22, 2026, at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home, with burial at Pineview Cemetery.

Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort knowing his laughter, love, and larger-than-life personality will never be forgotten.
