Gladys Marie Ramunno

Gladys Marie (Clay) Ramunno , 76, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones at 3:04 p.m. Monday, December 23, 2024, from a stroke at St. Joseph Hospital in Warren, Ohio.  Marie was born November 6, 1948, in Niles, Ohio, the daughter of William and Stella (Loomis) Clay.

Marie was a 1967 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, the Cleveland Institute of Medical Technology, and was a member of St. Dominic Church in Youngstown. Marie worked for Dr. Sevachko in Youngstown and Boardman for 35 years before transitioning to a role in 2018 to oversee operations at Allied Locksmiths in Youngtown.

Marie married the late Anthony (“Tony”) J. Ramunno on July 6, 1982.  They lived their time together to the fullest traveling the world while creating unforgettable memories. Marie’s greatest passion was spending time with her beloved son Kit, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, friends and family.

Marie is survived by her son Kit (Laine) Glass; grandchildren Jon (Jen) Breckner, Mara Glass, Seven (Kendal) Runge, Jules Runge, and Liv Runge; brother Cecil Clay; sisters Lula (Luke) Foster and Liza Jane Clay; in-laws Lois (Cecil) Clay, Carol (Joseph) Clay, Valerie (Millard) Clay, Marilyn Ramunno (Steve Grimes), Robert Ramunno, John (Michelle) Ramunno, Mark Ramunno, Joseph (Patricia) Ramunno, and David (Carla) Ramunno; Godson Jason Ramunno; and many beloved friends, cousins, nieces and nephews who will all miss her dearly.

In addition to husband Tony and her parents, Marie was preceded in death by five brothers Eugene Leedy, Harold Clay, James Clay, Millard Clay, Joseph Clay and sister Mary (Clay) Jackson.

Calling hours for family and friends will be held 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. on Friday January 3, 2025, at St. Dominic Church, 77 East Lucius Ave, Youngstown, Ohio 44507. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by a gathering at St. Dominic Hall immediately after the service.  Burial will be in Pineview Cemetery.
