Harold William Lemley

Harold William Lemley 89, passed away peacefully at 3:55 p.m. on Thursday, July 14, 2022 following a short illness. Harold was born in Littleton, West Virginia on August 18, 1932 the son of Carl R. and Ada M. (Barnhart) Lemley and came to this area as a child.

He was a 1951 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and honorably served in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean War. He was discharged on September 11, 1953 and served on the Heavy Cruiser USS Macon. Harold retired on September 1, 1977 after working 31 1/2 years as a manufacturing engineer in the chassis department at General Motors Lordstown Plant and previously worked for ten years at the RMI Co, Niles. Harold was a faithful longtime member of the Mineral Ridge Church of Christ, was a church deacon, elder and Bible School Teacher for the Kum Double Bible School Class. A honorary member of the Trumbull Rod and Gun Club of Mecca since 1989 and member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed outdoor activities, hunting, visiting flea markets and county fairs.

Harold is survived by a daughter, Lynda (Richard) Williams of Severna Park, Maryland; son, Ricky (Denise) Lemley of Mineral Ridge; five grandchildren, Christy Williams and Josh Harness, Scott (Joanna) Williams, Andrew (Lauren) Lemley, Matthew (Jenn) Lemley, Jessica (Joe) Mook, six great grandchildren Ethan, Ellis, Breckyn, Emma, Logan and Diana; longtime friend Betty Bridgen.

He was preceded in death by his wife Loretta Jean (Rice) Lemley whom he married on February 12, 1955 and who died on September 27, 1984, infant daughter Jennifer who died at birth in 1968, and aunt Donis Clewes.

Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, July 18, 2022 and 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Ron Blakeman officiating. Burial will be in Kerr Cemetery with military honors provided by the Trumbull County Veterans Honor Guard.
