Helen C. Barker , 89, went home to be with her Lord at 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday February 12, 2025 at her residence. She was born in Leatherwood, Kentucky on October 22, 1935 the daughter of Clyde and Nada (Holbrook) Cline Sr.
She was a 1953 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and attended the Truth Baptist Church in Atwater, Ohio. She was a teletypist for the Niles Daily Times Newspaper. Helen was a faithful believer of the Lord Jesus Christ and cherished activities with her grand and great grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her Golden Girls Sisters.
Helen is survived by her son, Douglas W. (Debbie) Barker of Berlin Center; two grandsons, Jerod (Nikki) Barker of Mentor, Jacob (Sissy) Barker of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; three great grandchildren, Oliver, Grayson, EllieMae; two sisters, Sharlene Lanterman of Austintown, Shelby Snowden of North Jackson; brother, Phillip (Diana) Cline of Niles; special friend Marlene Meek and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Henry W. Barker whom she married on December 1, 1956 and who died on October 29, 2003; daughter, Darla Edenfield who died on October 15, 1988; sister, Opal Barninger and two brothers, Clyde Cline Jr. Edgel Cline.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday February 17, 2025 at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. The funeral will be at noon on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at the funeral home where family and friends may also call from 11:00 a.m. until noon. Burial will be at Kerr Cemetery.
