Helen Mae Bowman

NILES - Helen Mae Bowman, 93, died at 2:30 am on Monday June 10, 2013 at the Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home following a brief illness. She was born in Niles on November 5, 1919 the daughter of James Edward and Della (McCarty) Ryan and lived in this community her entire life. She enjoyed playing bingo, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles and traveling to Las Vegas.  She especially cherishing the time spent at family gatherings and all of her grandchildren. Helen is survived by a son, Ronald (Sue) Bowman of Niles; two daughters, Beverly (Richard) Vrbancic of Warren, Ruth Bowman of Niles; daughter in law, Joyce Bowman of Niles; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Bowman whom she married on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1942 and who died on July 24, 2005; two sons, James Bowman, an infant; brother, Edward Ryan; two sisters, Margaret Cluse and an infant Rita. Calling Hours will be Wednesday, June 12, 2013 from 6 to 8 pm at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home.  The Funeral will be Thursday, June 13, 2013 at noon at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
