Helen Marie Gustovich

NEWARK - Helen Marie Gustovich, 93, died on Tuesday evening September 30, 2014 at the Chestnut House Assisted Living. She was born in Hawk Run, Pennsylvania on August 18, 1921 the daughter of John and Eva (Cidelko) Plevyak. She lived in the Niles community most of her life. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Niles and enjoyed reading and all the family activities. For 32 years she worked in the meat department at Kroger Grocery Store and retired in 1972. Helen is survived by a daughter, Alice Slavokovsky of Newark; son, George Stephen Gustovich of Niles; three grandchildren, Kathleen Beaver of Westerville, Helen (Jeff) Koppe of Silver Springs, Maryland, Stefan (Avery) Gustovich of Pickerington; three great grandchildren, Gavin, Jacob and Issac. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Frank Gustovich whom she married on August 23, 1946 and who died on November 6, 2003; son-in-law, Raymond Slavokovsky; daughter-in-law, Linda Gustovich; granddaughter, Jennifer Gustovich and ten brothers and sisters. Calling Hours will be Saturday, October 4, 2014 from 9 am to 11:30 am at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 11:30 am at the funeral home. Rev. Curtis Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rescue Mission of Trumbull County.
