BOARDMAN - Ian Thomas Fox 27, passed away on Tuesday morning July 13, 2021 at his home. Ian was born in Youngstown, Ohio on May 3, 1994 the son of AnnMarie Fox Modarelli and Shon Modarelli. He was a graduate of Boardman High School and the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center with a degree in diesel mechanics.
Ian had the kindest soul, great sense of humor and loved nature and the outdoors. He was a hunter, fisherman, marksman and enjoyed riding dirt bikes.
Ian is survived by his parents AnnMarie and Shon Modarelli with whom he lived; his sister, Jessalin Smith of Austintown; his little sis and best friend, Kaitlyn Palmer of Niles; grandmother, Kathryn Fox of Niles; grandfather, Ronald (Cathy) Fox of Pulaski, Pennsylvania; aunts and uncles, Marion Palmer of Niles, Jennifer (Jeff) Bansberg of Liberty, Donna (Thomas) Wainio of Canfield, Patricia (Anthony) Fuda of Niles, Richard Kuester of Niles, Linda (Tom) Welsh of Liberty, Joe (April) Modarelli of Cleveland, Tricia (Kenneth) Swanson of Austintown, Jean (Gary) Stelter of Baldwinsville, New York, Michael (Patricia) Modarelli of Belleville, Illinois, Dan (Stacey) Modarelli of Concord; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He also leaves his faithful companion, his german shepherd "Diesel".
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Helen Petrony and Joseph and Patricia Modarelli; and uncle, Richard Palmer.
Calling Hours will be from 4 to 7 p. m. on Friday July 16, 2021 at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home in Niles. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday July 17, 2021 at St. Stephen Church in Niles preceded by a 10:10 a.m. prayer service at the funeral home. Rev. Richard Murphy will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery.
