Ila Vere Gernek

WARREN - Ila Vere Germek, 80, passed away at 2:14 pm on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital following a sudden illness. She was born in Cleveland on April 12, 1933 the daughter of George H. and Norene G.(Sweet) Pugh and resided in the Chardon Area moving to Warren in the late 1990's. She was the owner of the Olden Dayes Shoppe, an antique shop in Chardon for many years.   She enjoyed collecting antiques, reading, sewing, making dolls and doll clothes.  She also enjoyed the company of her two beloved cats, Shadow and Misty. Ila Vere is survived by her husband of 57 years, William M. "Bill" Germek; son, Richard Germek; three grandchildren, Jeff (Colette) Germek, Chris (Beth) Germek, Megan Germek; great grandson, Cameron James Germek and an expected great granddaughter due this week, Evelyn Ila Vere Germek; sister-in-law, Sally Pugh; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jeff Germek; sister, Donna Bowman and brother, Robert Pugh. According to her wishes, there are no calling hours or funeral service.
