Irene Theresa Kuhn

NILES - Irene Theresa Kuhn, 86, passed away peacefully at 7:40 p.m. on Sunday August 13, 2017 at the Windsor House in Champion. She was born in Youngstown, Ohio on September 22, 1930 the daughter of John and Theresa (Toth) Banyots. She retired in June of 1993 after working 17 years as an assistant cook and noon aide at Washington Elementary school in Niles. She was a member of St. Stephen Church and enjoyed crocheting, crafting, baking Hungarian dishes, playing cards and camping. She was an avid Cleveland Browns and Indians fan, will be remembered for her working out at Curves and walking with her many friends at the Niles Wellness Center. Most of all, she cherished the time spent at family gatherings with her children and grandchildren. Irene frequently said "Take me home" she is now home with her Lord and deceased relatives. Irene is survived by six children, Michael (Barbara George) Kuhn of Katy ,Texas, Karen (Ted) Cagle of Yukon, Oklahoma, David Kuhn of Cleveland, Kevin (Amy Reeves) Kuhn of Niles, Renee D'Andrea of Howland, Kim (Neil) Thomas of Apex, North Carolina; nine grandchildren, Adam Kuhn, Anthony Boller, Scott Champlin, Brian Champlin, Holly Niemi, Olivia Rose D'Andrea, Chloe Irene D'Andrea, Jacob Treece, Ethan Treece; and four great grandchildren Kamryn and Jaxon Boller, Hadley Hartzell Niemi and Grace Elizabeth Kuhn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael J. Kuhn Jr. whom she married on July 14, 1951 and who died on April 1, 2006; daughter, Sherry Kuhn; three brothers, Joseph Banyots, John Banyots, Andrew Banyots and six sisters, Ann Schwartz, Helen Jackson, Mary Razum, Betty Enyeart, Jane Poszgai, twin sister Theresa "Terry" Sabino. Calling Hours will be Friday August 18, 2017 from 4:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home where the St. Stephen Bereavement Ministry will have a 6:30 p.m. prayer service. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephen Church. Rev. James Korda will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery.
