NILES - Irene Wilma Toth, 92, of
Shadowridge Drive passed away peacefully at 2:25am, Saturday
August 3, 2013 at the Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home, Niles
following a short illness.
Irene was born in Duquesne, Pennsylvania on April
16, 1921 the daughter of Joseph and Marie (Petrovits) Kolozsi.
Irene was know by many as "Ike" and had previously
lived on Anderson-Morris Road, Niles and 15 years in Florida.
Before her retirement in 1978, Irene was employed in the meat
department of Fisher Fazio Foods. A 1939 graduate of Braceville
High School, she played high school basketball, enjoyed walking, an
active member of the South Side Presbyterian Church and the ladies
auxiliary, and cherished family activities.
Irene is survived by a daughter, Jolane (Robert)
Penksa; granddaughter, Melanie Penksa; two grandsons,
Matthew Penksa and Marcus Penksa all of Niles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband,
Wallace Toth whom she married November 12, 1945 and who died
March 5, 2006; son Robert Toth; three sisters, Goldie
Pirigyi Kish, Bertha Engle, Margaret Haynie and brother
Leslie Kovacs
At her request there are no calling hours or
funeral services. A private burial will be in Braceville
Township Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the activity
fund of Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home, Niles.
