Jack Earle Harding

July 18, 1925 — February 3, 2015

NILES - Jack Earle Harding, 89, died at 12:25 am on Tuesday February 3, 2015 at the St. Joseph Health Center. He was born in Dayton on July 18, 1925 the son of Roy G. and Elvira J. (Thompson) Harding. Jack honorably served in the United States Navy during World War II. He retired in 1987 after working forty years as a heavy equipment operator for Local 66 Operating Engineers of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Jack loved baseball and was an avid Cleveland Indians Fan. Jack is survived by step-son, Leslie Whitt Jr. of Warren; two step-daughters, Betty Marie Hinton of Howland, Josephine Foster of Niles; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren; sister, Jane Heltzel of Newton Falls He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Edna Mae (Abbott) Harding whom he married on April 12, 1949 and who died on April 18, 1995; brother, Carl Harding and a grandson. The funeral will be Friday, February 6, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at the Niles City Cemetery Chapel by the Trumbull County Honor Guard. Burial will follow in the Niles City Cemetery.
