James Arthur Rich

NILES - James Arthur Rich, 76, passed away peacefully at 9:07 am on Friday March 14, 2014 at the Marliere Care Center in New Port Ritchey, Florida of a short illness. He was born in Niles, Ohio on February 5, 1938 the son of Arthur and Mary (Chance) Rich. A 1956 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, he honorably served in the United States Army Reserves. After 45 years of service, he retired in 1991 as the branch manager of City Financial. He enjoyed golfing and family activities especially spending winter months in Florida with his wife. Jim is survived by his wife, Judy L. (Jennings) Rich whom he married on April 16, 1960; two sons, John D. Rich and Kathy Durig of Mineral Ridge, Jason M. (Darcie) Rich of Homeworth, Ohio; seven grandchildren; two great grandsons; brother, Joseph (Carol) Rich of Niles; sister, Shirley (Edward) Delon of McDonald. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Jeffery J. Rich who died on October 15, 2002. Calling Hours will be Tuesday, March 18, 2014 from 4 to 7 pm at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. Service of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 10 am at the funeral home. Rev. John-Michael Lavelle of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church will officiate. Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley.
