James (Jim) Barry Sarber, 68, passed away at 4:28 p.m. on Sunday August 21, 2022 at the St. Elizabeth Health Center. He was born in North Charleroi, Pennsylvania on May 12, 1954 the son of James L. and Olive E. (Brown) Sarber.
He recently retired in 2019 after a long career as a lithographer for CCL Container in Hermitage, Pennsylvania. Jim was a free spirit. He loved his long drives in the countryside, listening to The Highwaymen and talk radio. His youth was full of travel, and he especially loved to explore the world through his hobby of amateur photography. It was common to find Jim in the forest, snapping pictures of animals, flowers. trees and bugs. In his later years, he enjoyed the wild of his own backyard, becoming an avid bird watcher and gardener. He will be grievously missed by those who knew and loved him and the animals that found a friend in his gentle presence.
Jim is survived by his wife Bonnie (Holbrook) Sarber whom he married on September 11, 1990; two daughters, Felicia D. (Brian) Williams of Lewis Center, Jessica B. Sarber and fiance Quinton Mayle of Columbus; grandson, Nathan Williams; mother, Olive E. Sarber of Braceville; sister, Sharon (Gerald) Lenarcic of Fort Myers, Florida; brother, Randy (Karen) Sarber of Braceville; sister, Cynthia (Donald) Chaybin of Greenville, Pennsylvania; several nieces and nephews and his favorite furry friend, Parker. He was preceded in death by his father, James L. Sarber.
The funeral will be at 5:00 p.m. on Friday August 26, 2022 at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home where family and friends may call one hour prior to the service. Pastor Darrell Cline will officiate. Burial will be in Kerr Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County.
