James R. Sygar

James R. Sygar , 84, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday morning May 4, 2024 at his residence. He was born in Warren, Ohio on August 5, 1939 the son of Stephen and Virginia (Madusjeski) Sygar and lived in this community all of his life.

He was a 1957 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and of the Catholic faith. He retired in the 1980's after working 21 years as a machine operator at Packard Electric. During his high school years, he was an excellent basketball player and was recognized by the Steel Valley Conference as a player of the year. Jim enjoyed playing pool, golfing and basketball. He was an avid reader and conversationalist.

Jim is survived by two sons, Michael T. Sygar and his wife JoAnn Bolte, Marc Sygar and his fiance Rachel McGrath, two grandchildren Oscar Sygar and Ruby Sygar all of Portland, Oregon; four brothers, Richard (Janet) Sygar of Manhattan, New York, Vince Sygar of Renando Beach, California, Robert (Sheila) Sygar of Bowie, Michigan, Daniel (Colleen) Sygar of Northville, Michigan; sister, Sally Ann Nolder of The Villages, Florida, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, William Sygar on October 23, 2017 and brother-in-law Ronald J. Nolder on November 18, 2021.

At Jim's request, private services and burial will be held for the immediate family.
