James Paul Zucco, 78, passed away peacefully at 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at the Continuing Healthcare at the Ridge following an extended illness. Jim was born in Youngstown, Ohio on December 7, 1943 the son of Joseph A. and Virginia (Fitch) Zucco.
Jim was a 1961 Liberty High School graduate, and served in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. He was a proud Marine and a member of the Niles Veteran of Foreign Wars and Niles Amvets Post. Jim enjoyed playing poker, horse racing, bowling and trips to the Las Vegas casinos. Sunday pasta dinners, monthly breakfast with his siblings and spending time with his children and grandchildren were all very special to him over the years.
Jim is survived by two sons, Joseph (Lara) Zucco of Niles, Michael (Melissa) Magda of Sugar Hill, Georgia; eight grandchildren, Brooke, Hannah, Alexander, Katelin (Colin), Mikayla (Greg), Mike, Mandy, Gracie; great grandson Christian; brother, Anthony (Amy) Zucco of Hermitage, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Georgia (John) Schinker of Boardman, Virginia "Dee" Scutillo of Hubbard.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Mary Alice Holbrook Zucco whom he married April 30, 1969 and who died November 8, 2013; his sister Sandy Randolph.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home where family and friends may call one hour prior to the services. The American Legion Lake Milton Post #737 will provide military honors.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Youngstown, Ohio 44512.
