Joan E. Petrosky

Joan E. Petrosky, 72, passed away peacefully on Monday evening September 11, 2023 at the Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home in Liberty. She was born in Warren, Ohio on May 15, 1951 the daughter of Joseph L. and Elizabeth "Betty" (Kravec) Petrosky.

Joan was a 1969 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School, received her Bachelors of Science degree in Education from Bowling Green University and a Masters degree of the Arts in History from the University of Maryland. During her career, She taught junior and senior high school in Ohio and in Maryland. After retiring from the teaching profession, she was caregiver for her parents. Joan was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mineral Ridge and enjoyed counting cross stitch, playing scrabble and reading, especially the subjects of History and English.

Joan is preceded in death by her father and mother, and is survived by three brothers, Kenneth (Sharon) Petrosky of Severna Park, Maryland, Richard (DeOnne) Petrosky of Gold Canyon, Arizona, and Gary (Mary) Petrosky of Crofton, Maryland, and four nephews.

Calling hours will be from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 on Monday September 18, 2023 at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Church in Mineral Ridge. Rev. Richard Murphy will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley or Warren Family Mission.
