Joanne Defilippis

LEXINGTON,SC - Joanne (Zucco) DeFilippis, 92, formerly of Niles, Ohio passed away at 5:00 pm on Saturday, March 16, 2013 in Lexington, South Carolina. She was born in Reggio Calabria, Italy on August 29, 1920 the daughter of Antonio and Mary Zucco. She came to the United States in 1938 and settled in Kane, Pennsylvania where she met and married her husband, Arthur DeFilippis on September 17, 1940.  She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family.  She cherished the time spent with her family and celebrated the joy they gave her in return. Joanne is survived by a son, Pete (Carol) Defilippis of South Carolina; daughter, Mary (Jerry) Fonce of Niles; five grandsons; nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Josephine (Jim) Cameneti of Warren, sister, Angie Pellegrino of Warren, Pennsylvania; brother, Tony (Carol) Zucco of Niles and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents, husband on November 15, 1970; brother, Joe Zucco; sister, Theresa Juliano and twin grandchildren, Jerry and Sherry Fonce. Calling Hours will be Monday, March 25, 2013 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home.  The Service of Christian Burial will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Thomas Kraszewski.  Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
