John Michael Rudy

John Michael Rudy, 74, passed away peacefully at 3:15p.m. on Monday June 26, 2023 at his residence following an extended illness. John, a beloved husband, father and friend, was born in Youngstown, Ohio on November 5, 1948 the son of Michael Joseph and Margaret (Shohayda) Rudy and was a lifetime resident of Niles, Ohio.

John graduated from Niles McKinley High school and served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He retired from the City of Niles following 25 years of service. He enjoyed bowling, pool and playing cards. In his retirement he enjoyed wrestling and baseball and never missed a Cleveland Indians game.

John is survived by two daughters and two sons: Jeanette (Roger) Shull of Howland, Cindy (Mike Pozega) Rogers of Girard, Thomas (Jennifer) Medve of Niles, Michael Rudy of Niles, eleven grandchildren, Kimberly (Mike) Merten, Tanner Clark, Mara (Edward) Kleese, Dylan Rogers, Ian Rogers, Raylynn Rudy, Landon Rudy, Roderick Rudy, Ensley Rudy, Adrianne Medve, Christopher Medve, seven great grandchildren and twin brother David William Rudy of Warren.

John was preceded in death by his parents and loving wife Dorothy Trevena Rudy whom he married October 22, 1984 and she passed away February 19, 2019.

Private graveside service with Military Honors will be at the Niles City Cemetery. Per request of Mr. Rudy calling hours will not be held.
