Joseph E. Cupan Jr.

Joseph Eugene Cupan Jr., 66, passed away peacefully on Thursday August 13, 2026 at the Hospice House in Poland following a courageous battle with metastatic melanoma of the skin and brain.

Joe was born February 22, 1960 in Youngstown, Ohio the son of Joesph Eugene and Anita (Stolle) Cupan Sr. He was a graduate of the McDonald High School Class of 1978 and honorably served in the United States Navy. For many years he worked as a tool and die machinist at Clark Dietrich in Warren.

He enjoyed fishing and going on vacations, especially to Florida. An avid Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeye fan, he loved and cherished the time spent with his family and friends.

Joe is survived by his wife Joanna (Pugh) Cupan whom he married on October 25, 2019; his mother, Anita Cupan of McDonald; children, Nicholas Cupan of Liberty Township, Kayla Victor of McDonald, William Victor of McDonald; two grandchildren, Ellah and Vada Cupan. He is also survived by his sister, Vicki Cupan (Bob Haydu) of Girard; brother, Calvin (Michelle) Cupan of Girard; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father.

A Memorial Celebration of Joe’s Life and Benefit for the Cupan Family will be starting at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday September 12, 2026 at The Alumni Inn 346 S. Market Street, Girard, Ohio 44420.
