Julia Cost

NILES - Julia (Constantino) Cost, 103, died at 7:52 pm on Thursday May 30, 2013 at the Autumn Hills Nursing Home following a short illness. She was born in Conemaugh, Pennsylvania on April 6, 1910 the daughter of Michael and Julia (Jurey) Kowalchik and came to Trumbull County in 1923 from Pennsylvania. She was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, Scope Senior Center of Niles, Leisure 39ers and the Democratic Womens Club of Niles.  She enjoyed playing bingo, cooking and baking. Julia is survived by a daughter, Helen Kaniclides; two sons, Gus Cost, George Cost all of Niles; eight grandchildren, Christine Kaniclides, Kathie Kaniclides, Michael Kaniclides, Nick Cost, Kimberly (Roy) Little, Susan Faith, David (Cindy) Cost, Michael (Kim) Cost; six great grandchildren, Lee Anne (Michael) Burns, Shaun Faith, Lindsey (Charles) Schiffhauer, Nicholas Kaniclides, Andreas Kaniclides, Alexander Kaniclides and one great great grandson, Mason Burns. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nick (Constantino) Cost whom she married on December 29, 1928 and who died on January 26, 1997 and her twelve brothers and sisters. Calling Hours will be Sunday, June 2, 2013 from 5 to 7 pm at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home, with a Trisagion Service at 6:00 pm.  The Funeral Service will be Monday, June 3, 2013 at 11:00 am at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church preceded by 10:15 am prayers at the funeral home.  Rev. Constantine Valantasis will officiate.  Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
