NILES - Karola Dieck, 63, passed
away peacefully at 9:48 am Sunday, February 17, 2013 at her
residence following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Idar-Oberstein, Germany on April
22, 1949 the daughter of Hans and Lana (Heittich) Hertrich and came
to the United States many years ago.
A member of the Warren Bible Methodist Church,
she enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, baking, cooking
and caring for animals. She loved and cherished the time
spent with her family and grandchildren.
Karola is survived by four children, William T.
(Teresa Ward) Holbrook of Niles, Diane (Donald) Frum of Niles,
Michelle (Dean Cubbin) Penn of Hubbard, Nicole (Victor) Yancar of
Hubbard; eleven grandchildren, three great grandchildren; two
step-daughters, Susan Little of Niles, Mia Dieck of Warren; several
step-grandchildren; two sisters, Anita Gregg of Youngstown,
Hannelore Raush of Germany; two brothers, Dieter (Lisa) Hertrich of
Germany, Jeiken Hertrich of Germany and her beloved cat,
Mabel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles
Dieck whom she married on July 26, 1982 and who passed away on
March 9, 1990; parents and brother, Hans Hertrich.
Calling hours will be Thursday, February 21, 2013
from 5 to 8 pm at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. The
Funeral will be Friday, February 22, 2013 at 11:00 am at the
funeral home where family and friends may also call one hour prior
to the service. Rev. Paul Young will officiate. Burial
will be in Kerr Cemetery.
