Leslie Junior Whitt

LIBERTY - Leslie Junior Whitt, 92, passed away at 5:26 a.m. on Tuesday September 20, 2022 at the St. Elizabeth Health Center emergency room in Youngstown. He was born in Niles, Ohio on January 23, 1930 the son of Alfred M. and Edna Mae (Abbott) Whitt.

He honorably served in the United States Army and worked for 23 years as a craneman at Copperweld Steel, Warren and retired in 1985. He enjoyed traveling and the outdoors.

Leslie is survived by four sons, Phillip Whitt of Niles, Allen Whitt of Cardington, Dwayne (Kate) Whitt of Wisconsin, Robert Oakes of Louisiana; one daughter, Karen (Timothy) Malcomson of Niles; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and sister, Josephine Foster of Niles. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wives Esta Mae Shoulders Whitt, Maggie Butcher Whitt, Beatrice Arrowood Whitt; son, Ricky Whitt; sister, Betty Marie Hinton and step father Jack E. Harding.

Calling hours will be 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 23, 2022. Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
