WARREN - Marjorie L. Boyd, 86, passed away on Wednesday morning November 26, 2014 at her residence.
She was born in Niles on September 15, 1928 the daughter of Edward and Lillian (Bradford) Kapp.
She retired in 1991 from General Electric Mahoning Glass Plant in Niles after 33 years. She was an avid bowler and bowled in tournaments across the country. She was inducted in the Warren Women's Bowling Hall of Fame. She also enjoyed reading, traveling, watching old movies, going to casinos and cheering for the Cleveland Indians.
Marjorie is survived by two daughters, Nancy (Bill) Edmundson of Niles, Patricia McGowan of Niles; three grandchildren, Patrick (Jennifer) Marsico of Warren, Amy (John) Makosky of Hubbard, Jeff (Julianne) Edmundson of Howland; seven great grandchildren, Nathan, McKenzie, Megan, Sloan, Patrick, Luke, Liam and many nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her first husband Max McGowan who died in 1966. She married William "Jr" Boyd in 1973, also a well known bowler, and they bowled in many leagues and tournaments together until his death in 2001. A great loss was great grandson Neil Patrick Marsico in 2002. She was the last of a large and loving family of seven siblings, three brothers, James E. Kapp, John Kapp, Richard Kapp and four sisters, Lillian Mae Coates, Erma I. Shea, Edna Boda, Beatrice Kapp.
Calling hours will be Monday, December 1, 2014 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at noon at the funeral home. Rev. Curtis Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
