Marty R. Schimley

Marty R. Schimley, 65, passed away peacefully at 4:15 a.m. on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at the Hospice House following many years of courageously fighting his Parkinson Disease. Marty was born in Warren, Ohio on September 17, 1956 the son of John and Sarah E. (Libb) Schimley and has lived in Niles his entire life.

Marty was a 1974 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and a member of Saint Stephen Church. He was the proud owner of Schimley Excavating of Niles for many years. He enjoyed dirt track car racing and the many camping trips with his wife. Most of all he cherished the time he spent with his two sons.

Marty is survived by his wife, Debra A. "Debbie" (Ginnetti) Schimley whom he married on May 6, 1978; two sons, Matthew (Lindsey) Schimley, Jacob (Courtney) Schimley; four grandchildren Evan, Elliot, Brooke and Jacob all of Niles; three sisters and two brothers, Marcey (Robert) Havaich of Austintown, Michael (Karen) Schimley, Michele Newsom, Melinda Schimley, and Mark Schimley all of Niles. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home where the St. Stephen Bereavement Ministry will have a 6:30 p.m. prayer service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 20, 2022 at St. Stephen Church preceded by a 9:40 a.m. prayer service at the funeral home for the immediate family. Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
