Mary P. Allen

NILES - Mary P. Allen, 93, died at 9:04 am on Sunday March 16, 2014 at her residence following a long illness. She was born in West Union, West Virginia on December 30, 1920 the daughter of James and Mary (Grant) Robison. She was a graduate of Dodridge County High School in West Virginia and the Choffin School of Nursing. She retired in 1995 after 25 years as a nurse at the Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home in Niles. Mary is survived by two daughters, Ann (Harvey) Breedlove of McDonald, Liz Carano of McDonald; five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; two great great grandsons; sister, Eva Lowery of New Hill, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward L. Allen Sr. whom she married on February 8, 1942 and who died on January 10, 1974; daughter, Sheila K. Moore who died on December 10, 2010; son, Edward Lee Allen Jr. who died on July 9, 2012; three sisters and seven brothers. Calling Hours will be Thursday, March 20, 2014 from 11:00 am to noon at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at noon at the funeral home with Pastor Darrell Cline of the Evening Light Apostolic Church officiating. Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Southern Care Hospice.
