Mary Catherine Llewellyn

Mary Catherine "Cathy" Llewellyn , 84, passed away at 5:34 p.m. on Monday December 9, 2024 at the Sharon Regional Health Systems following complications of a fall. She was born in Youngstown, Ohio on November 28, 1940 the daughter of Dionigi and Anna (Barreca) Fontanella.

Cathy was a 1958 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and resided most of her life in the Niles and Girard areas. She worked at Packard Electric and was a self employed cleaning lady for many years. She was of the Catholic faith and attended Saint Rose Church in Girard and Saint Stephen Church in Niles. She was an avid reader and enjoyed listening to country music and going to the casinos. Most of all, she cherished the time spent with her family.

Cathy is survived by a daughter, Lisa Llewellyn and her fiance Michael Coe of Farrell, Pennsylvania; an adopted daughter Martha Workman of McDonald; adopted grandchildren, Melanie Smith, Emily Smith, Caleb Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband James W. Llewellyn whom she married on May 15, 1965 and who died on December 4, 2007 and a brother, Dominic Fontanella.

Calling Hours will be from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on Saturday December 14, 2024 at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home in Niles. The funeral service will follow at 5:00 p.m. Pastor Chris Massey of the Family Life Church Hermitage will officiate. Burial will be at All Souls Cemetery.
