NILES - Mary Ann Luich, 91, died at 7:50 a.m. on Sunday August 7, 2016 at the Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home following a long illness.
She was born in Etna, Pennsylvania on May 10, 1925 the daughter of Joseph N. and Anna M. (Stavlenich) Luich. She graduated from St.. Stephen Elementary, Niles McKinley High School in 1943 and the Warren Business School.
From 1959 to 1990 she lived in California and while there she was as a secretary for Kaiser Aluminum Co. for 22 years and the Clorox Co. for 7 years. She was a member of St. Lawrence O'Toole Church in Oakland. After retirement she moved back to Niles and was a member of St. Stephen Church where she served as an Eucharistic Minister at the church and to the homebound and was a teacher for the CCD and RCIA programs.
Mary Ann is survived by a brother, Michael Luich; two sisters, Katherine Spoljaric and Teresa Jozwiak all of Howland and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Robert, Joseph, William, Anthony Luich and two sisters, Barbara Ann Luich and Magdalen Giunta.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, August 11, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephen Church. Rev. James Korda will be the celebrant. No calling hours. Burial will be in Kerr Cemetery.
