Mary Ellen Nuzzi

MINERAL RIDGE - Mary Ellen Nuzzi, 92, passed away at 11:27 am on Saturday November 29, 2014 at Vista Care at the Ridge following short illness. She was born in Girard on October 14, 1922 the daughter of George J. and Emma J. (Langham) Grosbeck. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Niles and loved to travel, play cards and bingo and go to the casinos. She also enjoyed to cook and bake for her family. Mary Ellen leaves to cherish her memories her two sons, Albert G. Nuzzi of Niles, Michael P. (Barbara) Nuzzi of Howland; two daughters, Sheila Wozniak of Niles, Sandi A. (Donnie) Steele of Niles; six grandchildren, Albert (Sharon) Nuzzi, Michael (Amanda) Nuzzi, Michele (David) Zigmont, Donnie Nuzzi, Deanna (James) McKay, Danyl (Paul) Scianna; eight great grandchildren, Julia and Jarrod Sheffield, Alysa, Selina and Olivia Nuzzi, Andrew and Mariah Nuzzi, Jaeden Scianna; one great great granddaughter, Lily Sheffield; a favorite nephew, David Darby and niece, Carol Cioralla. Mary Ellen married her childhood sweetheart Michael Nuzzi on August 31, 1940 and had 66 years together. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Michael who died on August 10, 2007; grandson, Daniel M. Wozniak; son in law, Frank Wozniak and a sister, Margaret E. Darby. Service of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 12:30 p.m. at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home where family and friends may call one hour prior to the service. Rev. Richard Murphy of St. Mary Church will officiate. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staff at Vista Care at the Ridge and mainly the wing four aids and nurses for taking such good care of our mother, also Harbor Light Hospice near the end of Mary's life.
