Michael A. "Mick" Manda Jr., 75, passed away at 2:07 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at the St. Joseph Health Center following a short illness. He was born in Youngstown, Ohio on November 18, 1947 the son of Michael A. and Eleanor Mae (Krell) Manda Sr.
He retired in 2001 after working 31 years as a assembler at General Motors Lordstown. He was a member of the Niles Congregation of the Jehovah's Witnesses. Mick cherished the time spent with his family and telling stories and jokes. He had a love for classic cars, trucks, rock music and the blues. Of the many automobiles he owned throughout the years, his favorite was his classic Red Chevy Stepside. He searched for the greatest deals at antique stores and garage sales. His many collections included zippo lighters and baseball cards. He was an avid Cleveland Browns and Indians / Guardians fan.
Mick is survived by his wife Rina S. (Juillerat) Manda whom he married on July 30, 1987; four children, Amy (Richard) O'Brien, Brian Manda of Tallmadge, Natalie A. Manda, Alex J. Manda both at home; four grandchildren, Nolan Riley, Connor Patrick, Brandon Michael, Christian Alexander; sister, Lynnette (Wally) Swanson of Boardman, step-sister Janet (Gary) Dyer of New Middletown, step-brother Gary (Kitty) Sipe of Boardman and many loyal and good friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Michael A. "Little Mickey" Manda III; father, Michael Sr.; mother, Eleanor Mae Manda Sipe; step-father, Lawrence Sipe and brother, Samuel James Manda.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday December 5, 2022 at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home in Niles. The Funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday December 6, 2022 at the funeral home where family and friends may also call one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Kerr Cemetery.
