NILES - Nancy L. Griffith, 69, died at 2:15 pm on Wednesday April 23, 2014 at the St. Joseph Health Center following an extended illness with breast cancer. She was born in Logansport, Pennsylvania on November 29, 1944 the daughter of Walter E. and Bertha Elizabeth (Allen) Giron Sr. A 1963 graduate of Mineral Ridge High School, she retired in 2004 after working several years as a clerk at the Family Dollar Stores. For many years she was a Girl Scout Leader. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, making crafts, camping, fishing and her two dogs and cat. Most of all, she loved and cherished the time spent with her grandchildren. Nancy is survived by a daughter, Janet Lee (Chris) Kniseley of Warren; son, James L. Griffith Jr. and Christine Humphrey of Youngstown; step-daughter, Terri Lee of Georgia; long time companion, William "Bill" Higley with who she made her home; ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sister, Mary Skelton of Niles; two brothers, William (Debra) Giron of Newton Falls, George (Helen) Giron of Girard; her former husband, James L. Griffith Sr. of Bristolville. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Walter Giron Jr. and sister, Dorothy Davis. The funeral will be Sunday, April 27, 2014 at 3:00 pm at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home where family and friends may call two hours prior to the service. Pastor Ray Blasko of the Bolindale Christian Church will officiate. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
