Nancy K. Snider

NILES – Nancy K. Snider, 73 passed away peacefully at 10:30 p.m. on Saturday December 11, 2021 at the Caprice Health Care Center in North Lima.

Nancy was born on March 30, 1948 in Evansville, Indiana the daughter of Charles and Dorothy (Schoenbachler) Fischer.  She was a 1966 graduate of Mater Dei Catholic High School in Evansville, Indiana.  She retired in 2013 after working 27 years as a custodian for Niles City Schools Bonham School and will be missed by the “Bonham Family” of co-workers, staff and students.

Nancy was proud of her Catholic faith and truly loved St. Stephen Church in Niles.  She attended Mass on Sundays and several days throughout the week.  She was a member of the Parish Council, the Bereavement Ministry and the Niles Catholic Women’s Club.

She was avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns, Cavaliers, and Indians.  She enjoyed baking, cooking, making cookies and chocolate treats.  In the past several years she bowled and played bocce with friends.  Most of all she supported and cherished the time spent with her family and at her grandchildren’s school activities and sporting events.

Nancy is survived by three children Lisa K. Scheidegger and her husband Heinz of Fowler, Edward William Snider and his wife Heather of Niles, Charles Norman “Chad” Snider of Newton, New Jersey; five grandchildren Zachary Bishop Scheidegger, William Richard Scheidegger, Jacob Dylan Scheidegger, Addison Michael Crain, Halle Jean Snider; son-in-law Thomas Barnes of Niles; sister Charlagene Delk of Florida; two brothers David Fischer of Florida and Larry Fischer of Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband William Edward Snider whom she married on May 18, 1968 and who died on October 6, 2009; daughter Stacy Lynn Snider-Barnes who died on November 10, 2020 and brother Michael Fischer.

Calling hours will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday December 17, 2021 at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home, Niles where the St Stephen Bereavement Ministry will have a 5:30 p.m. prayer service.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday December 18, 2021 at St. Stephen Church preceded by a 9:30 a.m. prayer service at the funeral home.  Rev. Richard Murphy will be the celebrant.  Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
