Nicholas P. Limongi Jr.

Nicholas Paul Limongi Jr., 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning July 26, 2026 surrounded by the love of his family.

He was born September 9, 1942 in Youngstown, Ohio the son of Nicholas Paul and Adeline “Lena” (Muccio) Limongi Sr.

For 63 years, Nick served the Niles community as a beloved barber, a profession he embraced with skill, pride and genuine care. His barbershop, The Razor’s Edge, was a gathering place where friendships were formed, stories were shared, and generations felt at home. Nick’s steady hands and warm presence made him a trusted figure in the lives of countless neighbors and friends. We are all “good for another thousand miles.”

Nick was a 1961 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and the Akron Barber School. He was a member of Saint Pope John XXIII Parish – Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Niles. He loved music, listening to big band and jazz, playing music with his friends, and giving his family one of his greatest gifts, music. He was an avid sports fan and cheered for the Niles McKinley Red Dragons, Cleveland Browns and OSU Buckeyes.

Nick was the cherished husband of MaryAnn (Muntean) Limongi, with whom he shared a lifetime of partnership, laughter, dancing, and unwavering love. Together they built a home rooted in faith, family, music and the joy of raising their children.

He leaves behind, his loving wife MaryAnn whom he married on February 17, 1962; three children who were the pride of his life, Lisa (Joseph) Pellegrini of Medina, Richard (Amy) Limongi Sr. of Niles and Maribeth Limongi of Niles. Nick’s legacy continues through them and through the values he instilled – kindness, humility and the importance of caring for others.

Nick was also a devoted grandfather, deeply proud of each of his grandchildren; Kerryn (Nikita) Maglis, Chelsea (Vinny) Smith, Richard (Gianna) Limongi Jr. Julian Pellegrini, Noah Pellegrini and one great grandson on the way. His gentle spirit, humor, and steady presence will live on in their hearts and memories. He is also survived by his sister, Anna Marie Limongi of Niles. His sister Eleanor Alfano preceded him in death.

Nick will be remembered for his quiet strength, his unwavering work ethic, and his ability to make every person he met feel seen and valued. His life was a testament to service – to his family, his Niles community and the generations who sat in his barber chair. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and the community he faithfully served for more than six decades.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday July 30, 2026 at Saint Pope John XXIII – Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church with Reverend Leo Wehrlin as the celebrant. There are no calling hours and everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will take place at Niles City Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Niles Frontliners or Shepherd’s Foundation or YSU Dana School of Music.
