NILES - Phyllis Angela Ziegler,
75, passed away at 12:54 am on Sunday February 24, 2013 at the St.
Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown after a sudden short
illness.
She was born in Warren on September 15, 1937 the
daughter of Phillip and Ann (Tyhosky) Ascione.
A 1955 graduate of Youngstown Chaney High School,
she was a homemaker and for a couple years was a bookkeeper at the
Union National Bank in Youngstown. A member of St. Stephen
Church, she enjoyed dancing, babysitting, flower gardening and
boating at Lake Milton. She also enjoyed being with her
friends, exercising at Curves and walking with them at the Niles
Wellness Center.
Phyllis is survived by two sons, Phillip Ziegler
of Niles, Gregory (Sherry) Ziegler of Troy, Michigan; daughter,
Paula (Mario) Sortini of Niles; four grandchildren, Dayne Sells,
Paul Ziegler, Stephanie Ziegler, Angelina Sortini; three great
grandchildren, Cerenity, Anna Bella and Jaycee; brother-in-law,
Charles Woods of Niles.
She was preceded in death by her parents and
husband, Robert Andrew Ziegler whom she married on June 13, 1959
and who died on August 7, 2009 and a sister Joanne Woods.
Calling Hours will be Thursday, February 28, 2013
from 5 to 7 pm at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. Mass of
Christian Burial will be Friday, March 1, 2013 at 10 am at St.
Stephen Church. Rev. Thomas Kraszewski and Rev. Thomas Ziegler will
be the celebrants. Burial will be in Kerr Cemetery.
