Ralph Leroy Harris

NILES - Ralph Leroy Harris, 88, passed away at 12:06 a.m. on Monday September 12, 2016 at the St. Joseph Health Center. He was born in Niles on September 30, 1927 the son of Albert Edgar and Martha Gertrude (Martin) Harris. Ralph honorably served in the United State Army during World War II and he retired as a tow motor operator from RMI. He was a member of the Bolindale Christian Church and the Ohio Chapter 11 of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) He enjoyed golfing, bowling and playing cards. Ralph is survived by his wife Margaret (Lewis) Harris whom he married on August 20, 1949; daughter, Diana Lee (Robin) Williamson of Niles; two sons, Douglas Ralph Harris of Enterprise, Alabama, Albert Andrew Harris of Niles; five grandchildren, Matthew Claypool, Brad Claypool, Jessica Harris, Ralph Harris, Cheyenne Harris and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Esther Geist, Lois Havaich Foster, Florence Barlow and a brother, George E. Harris. Calling hours will be Thursday, September 15, 2016 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. The funeral will be Friday, September 16, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Pineview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bolindale Christian Church 2749 Fairview Avenue SE, Warren, OH 44484.
