Richard Allan Freel

NILES - Richard Allan Freel, 68, passed away on Wednesday morning April 24, 2013 at his residence after suffering poor health in recent years. Dick was born in Warren on June 5, 1944 the son of Lawrence A. and Ruth A. (Isler) Freel and moved to the Niles area in 1956 from Windham.  For many years, he lived in Southern California. A 1962 honors graduate of Niles McKinley High School, he also was a 1967 graduate of Purdue University with an degree in electrical engineering.  He worked for Hughes Aircraft as a computer hardware and software engineer and a computer consultant in the banking industry before returning to Niles twelve years ago.  He was a member of St. Stephen Church.  Dick always enjoyed being with his close and extended family. A loving brother and caring uncle, he is survived by a sister, Patricia (Michael) Ribarich of Niles; brother, David E. (Karen R.) Freel of Worthington; three nephews, John Ribarich, Daniel Freel, Matthew (Ally) Freel and a niece, Lindsey Freel. At his request, there are no calling hours or funeral service.
