Ronald A. Paulik , 85, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at his home. Ron, as he was affectionately know by many, was born in Niles, Ohio on April 16, 1939 to John and Anna (Gosmer) Paulik and was a 1957 Niles McKinley High School graduate and member of the marching band. Ron served his country in the United State Army and was the owner of Bernard TV & Appliance. After many years of raising a family and working hard, Ron retired. Retirement did not slow him down on e bit! He went on to spend his time caring for others, especially his father and many grandchildren! He was the crossing guard for Niles City Schools as well. Ron then moved on to his favorite job, being the elevator operator and caretaker of the Union Towers in downtown Warren and the Mocha House, a job he valued and loved. Ron was a social butterfly and loved meeting and chatting with people more than anything. He reluctantly retired at the age of 82 and spent his days quietly enjoying his family and grandchildren.
Ron was a master gardener and grew many fruits, vegetables, trees and flowers both at his beloved home on North Bentley Avenue in Niles and his condo in Warren. He enjoyed sharing the fruits of his labor with everyone and attempted to impart his knowledge and green thumb on his three daughters - although he often wondered if any of those lessons took! But nonetheless, he never tired of answering their many questions and helping their gardens grow. Ron was a man who would always go out of his way to help someone. He made an impact on his many customers, friends and neighbors. He took wonderful care of his family providing and teaching them the value of hard work, love, faith, entertaining, laughter and many adventures. He loved nothing more than telling a great story and sharing his heart with those he knew and loved.
Ron is survived by his wife, Barbara George Paulik whom he married May 9, 1964; three daughters, Nancy Riviella of North Carolina, Diane (Adam) Mack of Broadview Heights, Janice (Paul) Antonchak of Cortland; nine grandchildren, Corrine (Ben) Dudas, Kristen (Matt) Scott, Rocky (Jillienne) Riviella, Grace Mack, AJ Mack, Gabby Mack, Sammy Mack, Will Antonchak, Lizzy Antonchak; great-grandson Henry Dudas and another great grandson expected in November. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Ronald J. Paulik and brother Kenneth J. Paulik.
A very special thank you to son-in-law Paul Antonchak, Melissa Watson, Becky Dukes and the wonderful staff of Ohio Living Hospice.
