Ruth L. Dick

Schaumburg, Illinois - Ruth L. Dick, 93, formerly of Valacamp Drive, Warren, Ohio passed away peacefully on Friday June 12, 2015 at her home in Schaumburg, Illinois following an extended illness. She will be sorely missed by everyone. She was born in Penn Run, Pennsylvania on August 20, 1921 the daughter of Homer C. and Daisy (Anderson) Cameron and moved to the Warren, Ohio area in 1942 and later to Schaumberg in 2006. She was a longtime member of the Mineral Ridge United Methodist Church and the Ferndale Rebekah Lodge #608 of Mineral Ridge. She enjoyed her housewife duties, crocheting and playing cards with her family and friends. Ruth left a legacy of deep faith, warm smiles and a loving heart. Her memories will be cherished by her two daughters, Carole Johnson of Southington, Sandra (Mark) Jones of Streamwood, Illinois; five grandchildren, Tod (Joanne) Jones, Robin (Linda) Jones, Rory Allen, Laverne (Richard) Goldner, Melissa (Kevin) Taylor; five great grandchildren, Patrick, Joseph and Michael Jones, Bradley and Brent Gamlin and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband Willard S. Dick whom she married on October 12, 1940 and who died on December 15, 2002; five sisters, Evelyn Espy, Margaret Myers, Esther Boyle, Dora Cameron, Betty Cameron; four brothers, Wayne, Dale, Robert, Homer Cameron; son in law, William Johnson. Calling hours will be Monday, June 29, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home, Niles. The Funeral will be Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the New Hope Methodist Church where family and friends may also call one hour prior to the service. Rev. Curtis Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. The family thanks Phylle Adasa for her devotion and compassion as their mother's caregiver.
