CORTLAND - Ruth M. Keller, 92,
formerly of Niles, passed away peacefully at 12:35 am on Tuesday
July 16, 2013 at her home at the Lake Vista Assisted Living
Apartments of heart disease.
She was born in Cleveland on August 21, 1920 the
daughter of Philip and Louise (Libby) White and moved to the Niles
community in 1976 from Chardon. For the past eight years she
resided at 330 North Mecca Street, Cortland.
She was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Church
and a former member at St. Stephen Church, Niles. Early in
life, while living in Chardon, she was a 4 H Advisor for 15
years. She was active at the Niles SCOPE Center and looked
forward to traveling on their bus trips. An active bowler,
she was a member of the Tuesday Morning bowling league for eleven
years. She enjoyed crafts and cherished all family
activities.
Ruth is survived by three daughters, Jane M.
(John) Ameen of Cortland, Linda L. (Thomas) Grigsby of Montgomery,
Alabama, Ruth Ann (Neil) Craxton of Montville; two sons, Peter R.
(Mary) Keller of Livermore, California, James P. (Barbara) Keller
of Los Banos, California; brother, Harold E. White of Lyndhurst; 16
grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter
F. Keller whom she married on May 6, 1939 and who died on December
12, 2003; brother, Rev. Philip William White and sister, Marie E.
Seck.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, July
20, 2013 at Noon at St. Robert Bellarmine Church where family and
friends may call one hour prior to the Mass. Rev. Carl Kish
will be the celebrant.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Robert
Church or Lake Vista activity fund.
