Shirley M. Padilla, 87, passed away at 12:46 a.m. on Wednesday October 15, 2025 at the St. Joseph Health Center. She was born in Olive Hill, Kentucky on June 23, 1938 the daughter of Tony and Bertha (Collins) Stephens.
She retired in 2006 after 36 years of faithful service as a Quality Control Inspector at General Motors Lordstown. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church and enjoyed embroidering, party planning and growing flowers. Most of all, she cherished the time spent with her loving family.
Shirley is survived by her husband Juan "John" Padilla whom she married on April 7, 2005; daughter, Esther (Joe) Newell; sons, Anthony (Kelly) Nickels Sr., Robert Padilla, Anthony Padilla; daughter-in-law, Linda Nickels; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by son, Delmar L. Nickels; two grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Holbrook, Doris Butler, Hazel Evans; four brothers, Junior Stephens, Bill Stephens, Charles Stephens and Jimmy Stephens.
Honoring her wishes, there are no services. Burial will be in Kerr Cemetery.
