Thomas Allan James , 79, passed away peacefully, following an extended illness, on Wednesday morning, June 4, 2025 at Saint Joseph's Health Center. Tom was born in Niles, Ohio on July 14, 1945 the oldest child of Oliver William and Violet J. (Fisher) James and has lived in Trumbull County all his life.
Tom was a 1963 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, attended West Point Military Academy and Kent State University. He was a member of the United States Army Reserves and an active member of the Cornerstone Presbyterian Church of Boardman. Tom was in the construction business all his life and was a bricklayer and owner of James Construction Company for over 60 years.
In his retirement he enjoyed helping his friends and family with the repair of cars and was an active church member. He was passionate about reading his Bible and memorized many passages of Scripture. Tom was especially known for sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with his church family and many other friends.
Tom is survived by his wife Patricia Lee Egolf James whom he married June 4,1966; two sons, Timothy (Angela) James of Austintown, David (Barbara) James of Berlin Center; six grandchildren, Andrew James, Noah (Tori) James, Leah (Gabe) Faunda, Christopher (Gina) James, Joshua (Jessica) James, Joel James; two great grandchildren Micah and Maisie James; brother John William (Wendy) James of Phoenix, Arizona; sister Carolyn R. (William) Comstock of Escondido, California and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister Margaret Ann James.
Funeral services will be held at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home at Noon on Saturday, June 7, 2025 where family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to the time of the services. The Rev. Mark Bell will officiate. Burial will be in the Niles City Cemetery.
