William George Granger Jr., 83, passed away at 12:28 a.m. on Friday May 8, 2026 at Otterbein Senior Living in Cortland. He was born July 1, 1942 in Niles, Ohio the son of William George and Daisy (Erwin) Granger Sr.
Bill was a 1961 graduate of Mineral Ridge High School and honorably served in the United States Marine Corp. He retired from American Welding in 1993 after working his way up over thirty years to torch burner, a position he truly enjoyed. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, canning and working on any type of project in his garage.
Bill is survived by three daughters, Shari Granger of Niles, Deborah Anderson of Warren, Gail (Tom) Cogswell of Greenville, Pennsylvania; son, William G. (Renee) Granger III of Safety Harbor, Florida; many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and his beloved dogs Ginger and Jetta.
He was preceded in death by his wife, June Elizabeth (Tidd) Granger whom he married on July 20, 1968 and who passed away on October 4, 2011 and his siblings, Duane Granger, Dean William Granger, Delbert Eugene Granger, Glenadine Reaser and Kenneth Geer.
Calling Hours will be from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday May 13, 2026 at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home in Niles. The funeral will follow at noon. Chaplain Dan Yargo from Ohio Living Hospice will officiate. Burial will be in Pineview Cemetery.
