NILES - William Robert Pirigyi Sr. 95, passed away peacefully at 4:43 p.m. on Monday March 29, 2021 at the Hospice House in Poland following a short illness. He was born in Niles, Ohio on July 2, 1925 the son of John J. and Minnie (Shirkman) Pirigyi Sr. and lived in the Niles community most of his life. Bill retired in 2014 as the dedicated owner and operator of Niles RFG and Heating for over 60 years. He was a professional member of the Trumbull County Heating and Air Conditioning Association (THAA). He graduated from Niles McKinley High School and honorably served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Knights of Columbus Niles Council 1681, Niles American Legion, Niles Army and Navy, Amvets, VFW, Eagles Lodge and the Moose Club. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, fishing trips to Canada with his brothers, golfing and visiting casinos. Most of all, he cherished the time spent with his grandchildren who called him "paps" and "grandpa". Bill is survived by two sons, Harry "Mickey" (Linda) Pirigyi of Boardman, William R. "Billy" Pirigyi Jr. of Niles; two daughters, Cynthia (Terry) Seginak of Hubbard, Valerie (Bill) Rufener of Suffield; eight grandchildren, Michelle Atkins, Melissa (James) Coleman, Brad Pirigyi, Jared (Lisa) Pirigyi, Andrew (Megan) Pirigyi, Ethan (Chynna) Pirigyi, Nicholas Seginak, Tiffany (Michael) Asente; ten great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Joretta (Tanthorey) Pirigyi whom he married on June 18, 1948 and who died on June 2, 2014; sister, Margaret Krok and two brothers, John J. Pirigyi Jr., Arnold Pirigyi. Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, April 5, 2021 at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish - St. Cyril and Methodius Church, Warren with the Rev. Christopher Cicero as celebrant. The funeral mass will be preceded by a 10:00 a.m. prayer service at the funeral home with military honors by the Trumbull County Honor Guard. Burial will be at Saint Stephen Cemetery.
