William Arthur Richards

NILES - William Arthur Richards, 85, died 1:17 p.m., Monday, July 11, 2016 at the Phoenixville Hospital, Phoenixville, Pennsylvania following an extended illness. Bill was born in Youngstown, Ohio on June 30, 1931 the son of Kenneth H. and Helen L. (Orr) Richards. Bill was a 1949 graduate of South High School, Youngstown, United States Navy veteran serving from 1949 to 1953, retired as a maintenance welder and repairman from the General Motors Lordstown Plant. He was a longtime volunteer for Niles Community Services, enjoyed Square Dancing, and a member of several Masonic organizations. Bill is survived by a brother, Dale H. (Patricia) Richards of Pottstown, Pa. and three nieces and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his wife the former Dorothy Ann Wenzel whom he married June 2, 1956 and who died August 14, 1989, and a nephew. Family funeral services will be held in Pennsylvania. A private committal services will at the Niles City Cemetery Columbarium.
