Zearl "Red" Spillman

June 23, 1933 — March 7, 2013

NILES - Zearl "Red" Spillman, 79, of Anderson-Morris Road died at 3:56pm, Thursday March 7, 2013 at the St. Elizabeth Health Center. He was born in Lawton, Kentucky on June 23, 1933 the son of Arthur and Mausie (Ferguson) Spillman an came to Trumbull County as a child. An Army Air Force Veteran, he retired in 1982 after working 30 years at U.S. Steel Company, McDonald Works. He also worked as a gas station attendant for Thornton Oil Company.  He was a member of the Holiness Gospel Mission and enjoyed raising horses, working on cars and working in the yard. He loved and cherished the time spent with family activities. Red is survived by his wife, Lillie M. (Parker) Spillman whom he married on November 17, 1957; four children, Irene Spillman of Niles, Arthur Zearl (Cheryl) Spillman of Girard, Andrew William Spillman of Niles, Brenda Hopkins of Warren; ten grandchildren, Brenda Sue, Jennie Marie, Gayle Louise, Arthur Roy, Fred Clark, James Matthew, Mark Jonathan, Samandra Lynn, Timothy Lynn Jr., Dylan Alexander; 16 great grandchildren; brother, Leonard Spillman of New Mexico; five sisters, Ruth Walsh of New York, Florence Griffiths of Girard, Olive Realty of North Carolina, Connie Williams of North Jackson, sister, Betty Dunmire of Florida. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Flora Marie Miller in 2006, brother, Donald Spillman and sister Jewell Spillman. Calling Hours will be Monday, March 11, 2013 from 4 to 5 pm at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home.  The Funeral will follow at 5 pm at the Funeral Home.  Rev. Diane Williams will officiate.  Burial with Military Honors will be at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
