NILES - Aloysius S. Sipusic 97, passed away peacefully at 6:25 a.m. on Friday February 5, 2021 at the Hospice House in Poland. He was born in Girard, Ohio on March 28, 1923 the son of Bartholomew and Anna (Macekovic) Sipusic and lived in this area all his life. He honorably served in the United States Army during World War II and was awarded with the distinguished European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with three Bronze Stars and the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster. He retired in 1985 after working 35 years as a Millwright at Penn Ohio Towel Supply Company of Youngstown. Aloysius was a member of St. Stephen Church, Niles and the Croation Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, gardening, relax in his back yard and doing things around the house.
Aloysius is survived by a daughter, Janet (David) Rook of Hudson; two sons, Stephen (MaryLou) Sipusic of Cortland, Ronald (Patty) Sipusic of Champion; three grandchildren, Holly Sipusic, Faye Rook and Stephanie Rook. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen M. (Bata) Sipusic whom he married on June 5, 1948 and who died on September 4, 2011; three sisters and two brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday morning February 8, 2021 at St. Stephen Church, Niles. Rev. Richard Murphy was the celebrant. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown.
