Anna Ruth DeSoto

NILES - Anna Ruth DeSoto, 92, passed away peacefully at 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at her residence at the Suites at Continuing Health Care of Niles from a heart ailment. Anna was born in Milltown, New Jersey on April 21, 1929 the daughter of Herman and Emma (Zimmermann) Willenbrock.

Anna had been an active member of the Niles First United Methodist Church, the Women's Society and church choir. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and was a long time Trumbull County poll worker. She was a homemaker, enjoyed cooking for her family, making crafts, crocheting and needle work.

Anna is survived by two daughters, Donna and Scott Hillier of Girard, Barbara Lawruk of Lake Suzy, Florida, sister, Evelyn Whitmore of Riverdale, New Jersey, daughter-in-law, Kim DeSoto of North Las Vegas, Nevada, seven grandchildren, Samantha, Christina, Richard, Jamie, Kevin, Jesse, Brandon, and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert P. DeSoto Sr. whom she married February 4, 1950, daughter, Patricia L. DeSoto, son, Robert P. DeSoto Jr., son-in-law Donald Lawruk, and brother, Frederick Willenbrock. There will be no calling hours or services at this time. Burial services with military honors, will be with her husband, at the Veterans National Cemetery, Seville, Ohio in the spring.
