NILES - Betty June Snowden 83, passed away on Saturday afternoon Christmas Day December 25, 2021 at her home. She was born in Olive Hill, Kentucky on February 10, 1938 the daughter of James and Maude (Tomlin) Blair.
For over 42 years, she was a waitress at Alberini's Restaurant in Niles. Betty June was a member of the Evening Light Apostolic Church and enjoyed quilting, sewing, baking and cooking. She was an avid Cleveland Browns fan. Most of all, she cherished the time spent with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She unconditionally loved everyone and will be dearly missed by all.
Betty June is survived by two daughters, Cathy L. (Cary) Miller of Mineral Ridge, Connie R. (Steve) Velte of Mineral Ridge; seven grandchildren, Johnny (Alex) Amburgey, Sheri Amburgey and Mike Rhodes, James (Danielle) Amburgey, Angela (Larry) Lee, Timothy (Melissa) Smith, Stephen (Lisa) Velte, Ashley (Shane) Sharlock; 25 great grandchildren; one great great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband John R. Snowden whom she married on September 12, 1955 and who died on November 22, 1999; grandson Michael L. Amburgey; and ten siblings, Fern Davis, Juanita Sedelnik, Leona Haverin, Ruth Blair, Elwood Blair, Hubert Blair, John Blair, Arthur Blair, James Blair and Avery Tackett.
The funeral will be at noon on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home where family and friends may call one hour prior to the service. Pastor Darrell Cline will officiate. Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
